Tangle Pull Privacy Policy
This document explains what data the Tangle Pull mobile game collects, why it is needed, who processes it, and how you can control it.
By installing and using Tangle Pull you agree to the data practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not install the application, or uninstall it.
Status of monetisation in this version. Tangle Pull v1.0 is ad-supported only: rewarded videos (optional, for extra tries or an extra booster charge) and a capped interstitial between levels. There are no in-app purchases in v1.0 — section 7 explains what that means and what changes if purchases are added later.
Who we are
Tangle Pull is a mobile 3D puzzle game, developed and published by PocketLoom Games (“we”, “us”) — part of the PocketLoom Games studio. This policy applies to the Tangle Pull Android application with the identifier com.pocketloom.tanglepull, distributed through Google Play, and to any future releases of it.
We are the controller of the data described here. For anything related to this policy, write to main@pocketloom.games.
No accounts, no sign-in
Tangle Pull has no registration, login or account of any kind. We never learn your name, email address or any other identity information through the app itself.
Data we collect
| Category | What | Collected by |
|---|---|---|
| Install identifier | A random installId generated on first launch, stored with your local save; not tied to your identity |
App (local), included in analytics events |
| Gameplay events | Level starts/wins/losses, errors made, boosters used, meta actions (fragments, merges, collection cards), FTUE steps, screens viewed | Firebase Analytics |
| Device & app info | Device model, OS version, app version, language, approximate country derived from the IP address | Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, AdMob |
| Crash diagnostics | Error type, stack trace, app version, device state at the time of a crash | Firebase Crashlytics |
| Advertising data | Advertising ID, ad requests/impressions/clicks, whether a rewarded ad was completed, coarse IP-based location | Google AdMob |
All of this is technical/usage data, sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We do not combine it with data from other sources and we never sell it.
What we never collect
The application does not request or collect:
- your name, email address, phone number or any other contact details;
- precise location;
- contacts, messages or calendar;
- photos, videos, audio or files stored on your device;
- camera or microphone access;
- payment card data — Tangle Pull has no purchases in this version (see section 7).
Analytics and crash reports
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played (difficulty tuning, content planning) and Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix crashes. Data is used in aggregate; we do not build individual player profiles or make per-player decisions from it, and it is not used to target advertising.
Advertising
Ads are delivered by Google AdMob:
- Rewarded “continue”. After running out of tries on a level, you may optionally watch a short video for extra tries.
- Rewarded “get a charge”. An optional short video for an extra booster charge, capped per day.
- Interstitial. A capped, infrequent full-screen ad at defined points between levels — never during play, never in your first sessions or first levels, never right after a loss.
- To serve and measure ads, AdMob processes your advertising ID, IP-derived coarse location, device/app information, and your interaction with the ad itself.
- Consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland). Before any personalised ad is shown we ask for consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP); you can change your choice at any time from Settings. If consent cannot be obtained, only non-personalised ads are requested.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA). Declining ad personalisation also opts you out of the “sale”/“sharing” of your advertising identifiers for cross-context behavioural advertising.
See How Google uses information from apps that use our services.
Purchases
Tangle Pull v1.0 has no in-app purchases. No payment information is collected or processed. If a future version adds purchases, this policy will be updated first.
Data stored on your device
Your progress — levels, collection, booster charges and settings — is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us. Uninstalling the application deletes it along with it. If Android automatic backup is enabled in your device settings, the system may copy application data to your Google account; that copy is controlled by Google and by you, not by us. Backup can be disabled in the Android settings.
Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Analytics and crash diagnostics | Legitimate interest in operating and improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Personalised advertising | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time |
| Non-personalised advertising | Legitimate interest in funding a free game (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Who the data goes to
We do not sell data and disclose it only as described here or when legally required.
- Google (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) — acts as our service provider and processes data on our instructions. See Privacy and Security in Firebase.
- Google (AdMob) — delivers ads. For personalised advertising Google also acts for its own purposes, which is why we ask for your consent first where that is required. See the Google Privacy Policy.
International transfers
Google processes data on servers in several countries, including the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Google applies the safeguards described in its own terms, including the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Retention
- Usage statistics — kept in Google Analytics for the retention period configured in that service, then deleted automatically.
- Crash reports — kept in Crashlytics for a limited period.
- Advertising data — retained by Google according to its own policies; we keep no copy.
- Data on your device — kept until you uninstall the application or clear its data.
Your choices
- Advertising consent. Where consent applies, you can change or withdraw it at any time from the game’s settings.
- Reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation system-wide: Settings → Google → Ads (the exact path varies between Android versions).
- Uninstall the application. This stops any further collection and removes the local data.
- Disable application backup in the Android settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form and to withdraw consent you have given. Write to main@pocketloom.games and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
Because the game collects no account or contact details, we usually need the identifier the request concerns — for example your advertising ID — to find the relevant records at all.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. Declining ad personalisation, as described in section 13, also serves as an opt-out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
Tangle Pull is rated for a mixed audience, 13+. The application is not intended for and not directed to children under 13, and it is not part of the Google Play Families programme. We do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has provided us with any information, contact main@pocketloom.games and we will delete it.
Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections and is stored on Google’s infrastructure under its security controls. Access to analytics and crash reports is limited to the people who need it to develop the game. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work only with established providers and keep the amount of collected data to a minimum.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy — for example when in-app purchases are switched on, or when a new service is added. The current version is always available at this address, and the effective date is shown at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the Google Play release notes, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent again.
